A self-taught artist, Eileen Corse began following her passion for painting almost 20 years ago and has accumulated a following for her bold, flowing oil paintings. Corse paints impasto and alla prima, and works with a three-inch palette knife to create thick layered strokes that are alive with movement. In her most recent Water series, Corse utilizes her camera under water to capture action shots of swimmers that are used as reference for photos for her pieces. Initially painting figures of women at the pool or beach, frequent requests for images of children led to the addition of youngsters serving as playful subject matters within the collection.
Corse has been featured in many of the nation’s top art magazines, including American Art Collector, Southwest Art, Fine Art Connoisseur and Plein Air Magazine.
