Artist Gallery » Kashley
Kashley is a mostly self-taught artist whose interest in painting began as a child where he first picked up a brush at age 12 exploring a summer painting class and continued to paint and draw throughout high school. While he was passionate about creating art, he decided at the time to follow a more traditional business career path. Kashley spent several years in the computer industry and eventually owned a small computer sales company. He later completed a degree in marketing from Georgia State University and after graduation returned to corporate America and worked as a commercial insurance broker. However, Kashley soon found his professional life unfulfilled and by late 2004 began searching for a creative outlet and a new path, which led him back to his artistic roots. He attended an acrylics and drawing class from the Atlanta College of Art and experimented with different themes and styles of painting. After a few months, Kashley created a portfolio and began marketing his artwork. With positive feedback he gained from this exposure, he refined his art and as a result his two styles of painting emerged and his art career soon took hold. KASHLEY lives in a suburb north of ...

My abstracts provide the ultimate creative outlet allowing me to express my vision with freedom of texture and brush strokes. My work is influenced by all things found in nature and the heavens and I like discovering new patterns of color and movement within such things as rocks and celestial bodies. Each painting is heavily textured with acrylic paints, modeling paste, and occasionally textured gels giving depth to the canvas. By using these materials in such a way, my hope is that as you view my work you will have a sensation of experiencing nature first hand through the rise and flow of texture on the canvas.
As someone who appreciates a good cocktail, I wanted to paint scenes celebrating moments simply enjoying a favorite spirit. My wife and I often found ourselves enjoying vodka or whiskey over rocks far more than wine when we were out to dinner or celebrating around family and friends. As an artist searching for what drives my realistic style, I became captivated by transparencies and color variations in glass and its unique distortions and reflective qualities. So it seemed natural that I gravitated towards cocktail themes when exploring paintings involving glass and still life work in general. My paintings are bold in color and light and are extremely detailed. Yet, my goal with each Limited Edition Cocktail Series painting is to offer a warm and inviting feel by creating scenes that stir fond memories and emotions from those times when taking pleasure in a cocktail was part of that overall experience and celebration.
