Linda Bigness creates art on paper and canvas. Her largely abstract works have been exhibited internationally, won numerous awards and can be found in both public and private collections. Her exhibit history includes the Everson Museum of Art, the European Arts Embassy© the Stichting (Foundation) in The Netherlands, Munson Williams Proctor Museum of Art, Porter Contemporary Gallery, NYC, and the Yager Museum of Art and Culture. Public commissions include the Temple B 'Rith Kodesh in Rochester, NY, and the Governor 's Mansion in Florida. Bigness was head of the Visual Arts Department and Director of Gallery 320 at the Metropolitan School for the Arts in Syracuse, NY before it closed and has continued to curate, teach and write on a regular basis.
Linda Bigness ' work explores the interaction of line with color through layers of paint and drawing. The surfaces of the paintings reflect the gentle layering and subtle drawing applied through the process of painting.
