Artist Gallery » Deborah Hoover
Michigan artist, Deborah Hoover is challenged by Paul Klee’s statement, “make the invisible visible.†She develops a unique concept for every painting. “Two intangible, untouchable energies that are repeated in my paintings are light and movement.â€
“The light creates the shapes and shadows in my paintings and causes the colors to sparkle. Without light there would be no shapes, shadows or color. To me, light represents growth, learning, warmth and comfort.â€
“Movement and energy are a part of life and I want my paintings to be alive. I attempt to create movement by using color. The viewer’s eye instinctively follows the color wheel, yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, green and back to yellow. I reinforce movement by designing repeating shapes and lines, leading the viewer’s eye around the watercolor or acrylic paintings.â€
